Multiplayer Chase Mode Teaser

by Tobias Andersson on May 3rd, 2010

I'm working hard on Multiplayer as usual, and I though I'd share some of it with all of you. So here's a teaser video of Chase Mode:

The point here is that both players see the same view of the game, so that when you outrun your opponent far enough he can not see his bike anymore. Increase the distance a bit more and he explodes and you get a point.

On the other hand, you will not see much of the track ahead when you are in the lead. This provides a quite natural negative feedback loop, which is good. Negative feedback loops means that the player in the lead is given a disadvantage.

What do you all think? Looks fun?

  1. I think it’s a good idea to solve the multiplayer mode in a way like this. But maybe the gameflow would be distracted too much, because of the resetting all the time. But your right like this the games would be more exciting..

Maybe you could add two different multi-player modes? I was thinking about a multiplayer like the races vs. the computer bikes. If you are in lead and the competetor is far behind you see an arrow with the distance displayed. Or a small box in the corner where you see your enemies current location.

I just want to say that damn, that gameplay is smooth and it’s an awesome game. I get time-warped back to about 12-years of age. :)

This is just one of the many modes that are being worked on. Check the earlier blogs for the other modes.
